You’re invited to my virtual birthday party!

February 15th, 2008

I write backward well

You are all cordially invited to my four-day Virtual Birthday Bonanza! Monday is Ryan’s and my thirty-first birthday (yep, same day, same year) and Sunday is this website’s birthday, so obviously there is a lot of celebrating to do!

About a week ago I thought that I should throw us a gigantic birthday party but then I realized that it would be much more inclusive to have a virtual birthday party right here on this website! Plus, I wouldn’t have to clean my house! Woot! Woot!

What’s that you say? You’ve never been to a virtual birthday party before? You don’t know what to wear? Here’s how it works:

First, you arrive by way of the comment section anytime during February 15-18. (Think of it as an open house of sorts.) Let me know which virtual potluck dish you’ve brought with you. Then, describe or give me a link to my/our virtual birthday presents. Then, feel free to keep coming back to mingle with the other party guests.

For example, you might say something like this:

Happy Birthday, Tiff and Ryan and Website! I’ve brought my favorite Seven-Layer Dip with me to the party! The glistening guacamole on the top is made with fresh avocados picked from a private grove owned by the King of Burma. (Only the best for you guys!) And here is my gift to you, a little private island in the Carribean. Have a great birthday!

I can’t wait for you to come! I’ve decked the house out with virtual balloons, made plenty of virtual punch, and that live music in the back? Yep, it’s none other than Regina Spektor! Isn’t she marvelous?

See you soon! (Sort of.)

**Quick note: Your comments are probably not going to post immediately if you include a link. I’ll have to dig them out of my spam bin, but I don’t mind at all. I’m wearing rubber gloves.**

Happy birthday to you, your hubby and your fantastic blog!!

  7. Robin says:

Happy birthday, Tiffany, Ryan, and WBWG!!!
I am here with my awesome pot stickers.
For your gift, I am giving you this Joys of Engrish book, and even though it’s cheap, it is very hilarious and always brings a smile to my face. I hope you like it!

  8. Hey, thanks for the invite. I brought Dark Chocolate truffles, dipped in Milk Chocolate. :) I hope everyone enjoys. Since this is a virtual party, the calories are virtual as well so don’t worry about them and eat as many as you want.

For your gift, I bought both you and Ryan matching Shelbys.

The great thing about having two of the exact same car is that people will think you just have one because they only see one at a time.

Thanks again for the invite. It’s been a great party. Mariah, I loved the cheesecake. I’ll have to get the recipe. Robin, the pot stickers were amazing. You are so talented!

    Talk to you all later!

    Andi :)

  9. Jesse says:

I’m here at the party now. Thanks for the invite. I brought with me sixty-two sugar cookies with custom four color icing. Thirty- one are blog shaped, and the other thirty-one are shaped like fighting blue hens. Oh, and I bought you your very own Target Superstore. There’s no link for that, I just had to pull some strings. Oh and I arranged for Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michaelson to provide the entertainment for your party.

  10. Annie and Dan says:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! For the party, Dan and I will be bringing Lasagna. We are NOT talking about your typical ricotta cheese infested lasagna, but layers and layers of fresh decadent mozzarela cheese. The red sauce will be simmered for hours on end. The flavors will dance in your mouth a dance you have never before experienced. Get your taste buds ready for the experience of a lifetime.

As for your gift, it is simple. There is nothing worth more than a box of V Chocolates…actually caramels. My life would not be complete without them.

    Enjoy!!!

  11. Emily says:

Happy birthday to you both! I’m so glad you invited me. I brought a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting– it’s to die for! Oh, and for your present, I bought you a Challenger 605. What is a Challenger 605, you ask? It’s your own private jet! (See here: http://www.flexjet.com/Our-Aircraft/CL605/index.html) This way you can visit far-flung family and friends (including bloggie friends!) when you’re in Delaware. Have fun with it! (Oh, and Jeeves here will fly you anywhere you want to go.)

  12. Tiffany says:

Oh my! The food is incredible! I’m going to weigh at least 400 pounds by the end of this party!

And your gifts? Oh my goodness! So lavish and thoughtful! Thank you!

I can’t wait to see who shows up next.

  13. Suzie says:

    Happy Birthday!
So excited to be on the guest list. I’ve brought a full sushi bar, miso soup, virgin saki and gogurts!

I hope you like your gift.

Tiffany – you look fabulous in diamonds. Ryan’s gilded tux is simply ravishing. I’m wearing a silver sequined sheath in a Size 0. Since I cannot cook and am infuriatingly practical, I have wrapped up a lifetime supply of Mrs. Meyers Clean Day products and have invited the Merry Maids to stop by on Tuesday to clean up after the bonanza. While they’re there, the two of you will be recovering at the Miraval, Oprah’s FAVORITE spa: http://www.oprah.com/presents/holiday2004/gifts/pres_hol2004_gifts_oft_02.jhtml

  15. Kate says:

Hey, I’m here, but I can’t stay. Just thought I’d drop off some food and gifts. Here’s a triple chocolate fudge ice cream cake in the shape of Delaware with little plastic cake toppers of your family. For your gift I had to get in touch with my fairy god-mother; it’s a box of gogurts that never runs out. You could eat 1567 a day and the box would still be full.
Hope you enjoy! Gotta run! I heart you! Bye!

  16. Rosie says:

What a fantabulous party!! I’m so glad to be here! Happy birthday to you, Ryan, and, of course, the blog!!

As you might have guessed, I brought a never-ending bowl of Super Pasta Salad!! It’s the best batch I’ve ever made — if I do say so myself!!

All the food here is fantastic! And you’ve really recieved some great gifts. I chose to give you your own IKEA store. It will share the same parking lot with your Target Superstore. I hope you like it!

  17. Thanks for inviting me! I’ve brought you a whole fridge full all the different kinds of drinks you can think of. Non alcoholic, of course. And the food I have to bring is rainbow cake with all the colors of the rainbow kinds of frosting. I like all the different kinds of food and presents people have brought.
    love, Seth Mason Seeley

  18. simon says:

    Happy birthday!
I’ve brought Poisson Cru”” from Tahiti (we had this almost every day on our honeymoon).
As for a gift, how about an all-expenses paid trip to Prague? Luxury hotel, guided tours, tables at all the best restaurants, and unlimited spending money.
    Enjoy.

  19. Neil says:

Happy birthday. I’m not much of a cook, but I can bring the beer!

  20. Lindy Lou says:

Good Birthday Morning, Tiff and Ryan! This is your virtual early morning Birthday phone call, (6:00 a.m. MST). Just wanted you to know I’ll slip in the back door and take care of all the virtual dishes and clean-up duties while the party rages on. As for your gift, Tiff, I’ve purchased virtual stock in Hip & Humble in your name, and the franchise rights for the entire state of Delaware for the next two years, should you decide to start your own. Only two years, bcs I’ve not given up hope of you returning to Utah at that time. For Ryan, lifetime season tickets to the Jazz games (your own box) and Delta has assured you a first class seat on 24 hr notice. They are opening a hub in PA in your honor. That really surprised me, but I suppose it shouldn’t have, really.
And Happy Birthday, wbwg. Thanks for all the laughs and occasional tears.
    Love ya.

  21. heidi b. says:

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU TWO! We regret not making the virtual party, but are pleased to say dinner at Trio was wonderful. Val and I had a sweet time. He claims that was the best meal he has ever had, and that’s really saying something. He usually leaves the restaurant claiming he could have made the same dish for mere pennies! You two are simply fabulous! Go have a wonderful time at all the President’s Day Sales!

  22. Tiffany says:

Oh my goodness, this is such a fantastic party! I’m so glad you could make it!

Ryan and I are overwhelmed with your generosity. I mean, really.

  23. Kami says:

Okay, I am back. A little embarrassed that I first showed up in my sweats, but now I am wearing my dressed up mom uniform, dark jeans and a cute shirt. I thought training table cheese fries (with a dip of course) would be a good addition to all the food (c’mon, who doesn’t love cheese fries?)

Happy Birthday Tiffany! (and Ryan and blog)

I got you this for your name sake.

Oh yeah, and I bought along a friend.

  24. Kami says:

    Let me try again…
    your gift

    And I brought along a
    friend

  25. Kami says:

Last try, she has really been hard to get to come, she is busy girl, but she really wanted to meet you.

    You might know

    her

  26. Jennica says:

Happy Birthday guys! Thanks for inviting me to your party…

I bought you an unlimited pass (for your entire family) of free flying with any airline.

This is the best party EVER! You’re the best hostess.

  30. Tiburon says:

    Happy Birthday!!

Do you have a place I can plug in my crockpot? I made my yummy cocktail meatballs – just the right amount of sweet and sour. Oh and those really cute decorative toothpicks.

And for your prize you get a Year of Wishes Candles and a Year of Journals – you need those for sure! Cause your birthday should last all year. I hope you have a great day. I need to go spend some time at the food table – virtual food is all the calories I can afford this week! ;)

  31. Tiffany says:

Seriously, this is the best party EVER! Thank you all so much for your well-wishing, your incredible food, and your generous gifts! Wowzers!

  32. Happy Birthday!

Here is a birthday haiku for you:

    February sun,
    melt the dreary, dirty snow
    and grow some flowers

And also, my sushi-chef hubby made some rolls just for you.

  33. Soul Fusion says:

shoot, I missed the virtual party while I was at the real live thing on your birthdays’ eve baking red velvet cupcakes. But I suppose even though the party seems to have ended you might be ready for some more so go ahead and enjoy some virtual RVC as well.
Oh, and I went ahead and purchased the penthouse apartment for you at the Hudson Hotel (the link is below because I can’t embed) along with an underground parking spot so you can DRIVE up from Delaware any time you want. I also went ahead and purchased the Jazz from Larry Miller for Ryan (he cried a little but I think he’ll get over it). Since you now have that jet getting back to Utah for games shouldn’t be too much trouble.
