Their future wives will have a lot of thanking me to do

April 23rd, 2008

All I’m saying is that I’m raising these kids right. Almost every day they ask to go to Target, and just this morning pajama-clad Christian wandered in my bedroom and said, “I don’t know why, but I feel like going to IKEA today.”

Nice!! Let’s just go ahead and arrange the marriage of Tally and Christian now! Save ourselves the stress later!

  2. Tiburon says:

Nice work mama. Keep it up. Their wives will owe you forever.

One of my girls loves shopping. One hates it. It makes for some ugly times. I wish Mike would feel like going shopping at least once in his life. I think I’d fall over dead if he came up to me and said he felt like shopping. I’m really going to have to work on getting Matthew to Christian’s level of thinking.

nice! my boy is an experienced shopper, too. today he spotted a display of rubber boots and was over there with his shoes off, trying them on, before i knew it. ‘atta boy.

  5. Emily says:

Excellent! I think John starts to break out in hives as soon as he even thinks about shopping. (Sidenote: yay that you’re on twitter!!!)

  6. Heidi says:

That is so funny. I hope he continues to recognize those feelings as good and follows them some day! :)

  7. Jesse says:

I wish I could get excited about going shopping. Target and IKEA are two pretty decent shopping experiences though, with plenty to keep me occupied for 15 minutes or so.

if it weren’t for the people and the depressing dressing rooms I would probably get excited about shopping once in a while. Online shopping may have been invited just for me.
That being said, I just love that Christian would word the entire statement the way he did. Very funny.

    Note to Christian:

I know that Target and IKEA both offer great prices. But please realize that great deals purchased at absurdly high frequency will still inevitably equal big buckeroos. So, I’m just saying, once you’re back east, set your sites on Harvard Business School or MIT or at the very least Cornell or Brown or something that will land you a sweet corner office. I’m just sayin’!

I loved your Oprah post. That women makes me gag. But still…addicted. Boo her.

Also, I’m very impressed with earth-friendly ways. I’m giongto go buy some reusable grocery bags this weekend. P.S. I read online that reusing water bottles is a very bad idea since they are a breeding ground for bacteria that sneaks into the little invisible cracks in the plastic. Umm…yuck. I love my water bottles but I am going to go without.

Lastly…your boys are so cute. Target and IKEA shoppers?! Swoon.

  12. I love Target. That is our favorite place to shop too. My daughter says it is her favorite store.
If we ever have to move, I require few things: an airport, a Target, and a Nordstrom. Quite simple, really. :)

I’m glad you blogged about this. I’ve already blogged about what a rip-off this spring has been TWICE. And it’s still sucking! Grrrr. Plus, I like your claw toy analogy, so now I dont’ have to think of one.
