Today I love Christian because, as he started to read a new book to me in the car, he had the hardest time coming to terms with the fact that the narrator is a girl.
Today I love Max because he asked me to smell Lucy’s bacon-flavored treat before giving it to her. “Smell it,” he said, “It smells guuuuud.”
Today I love Ryan because he helps a lot of people every single day. And because he gave me a hickey.
Today I love my dad because he is making a pot of chili for my party, even though he isn’t coming.
Today I love my friend Kathy because she is coming to my party, even though it might be alone.
Today I love Lucy because she follows me around the house and when I look down, she is gazing up at me as if to ask, “OK, what next?”
Today I love a middle aged woman named Bonnie who gave me a heavenly one-hour massage.
Today I love Elvis because he inspired the Reeses Peanut Butter & Banana Cup.
Today I love my mom because when she watched Max and Christian yesterday, they had so much fun Max kicked me in the shin when I got home. He didn’t want her to leave.
Today I love my friend Alyssa because she texted me to let me know her dad’s surgery went well.
Today I love Mrs. Smith because she was waiting on my porch when Max’s bus arrived to bring him home, and I was still a block away. I also love her because she truly is sympathetic to every sad story I ever tell her, even if it’s the sad but true story about how I cannot seem to make dinner rolls.
Today I love my kitchen because I like to stand at my island and pretend I have a cooking show.
Today I love Alison because she gave me an awesome book about vampires.
Today I love the Germans because they invented the premiere way to make a pancake.
Today I love everybody who takes time to blog because it’s so fun to peek into your worlds and so much easier than breaking into your houses and reading your diaries.
Today I love realizing that in a week we begin to see how the fate of Jim and Pam will unfold.

Today I love James, because he will be home early, and because he watched the kids last night so I could go be girly with my friends.

I love you, you always have something interesting to read. I always feel like I have had a little peek into your world for a moment. Life is always so busy and this helps me to feel closer.
Today I love my friend Tiff because she always has time for a chat- even when I know she really doesn’t. And she always makes me feel like it was the greatest part of her day talking to me. I also love her because she asked me to host an incredible party in my backyard tomorrow night for a hundred of her closest friends- and it is going to RAIN!!! but, because she is going to be there, I know it is going to be OK and will still be the funnest thing I have done all year!
Epilogue: We just heard that Mother Nature won this one. But the up side is we are invited to share Dad’s chili with you tomorrow. There is a silver lining (or is that onions sparkling in the sun) behind every cloud that keeps the Rainy Day Man at bay. So sorry for everyone who put effort into this plan. So, today I love silver linings.
