This morning I heard about this news story: a nineteen-month-old and his mother were kicked off an airplane after the toddler kept saying, “Bye-bye, plane.”
Alright, I’m guessing that the flight attendant who threw the fit over this was having a bad day. Perhaps she had just watched that toddler classic, Mary Kate and Ashley’s Hi-jacking Hi-jinx and was feeling a bit edgy. Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, that was probably the first time she’d ever been on a flight with a small child who was being cheerful and talkative instead of screaming and throwing up (I had one of those once). If there’s anything they beat into your head during flight attendant school, it’s this: an upbeat toddler cannot be trusted.
