Corrie, my sister’s pal in Ohio, suggested July 19th as Friend Day, a day to celebrate and appreciate one’s friends. Doesn’t that sound great? I’m in.
I thoroughly enjoy a mild case of diarrhea. I find it to be very cleansing.
I have a scaly, red line on my left eyelid. Hope I don’t have scurvy again. (Actually, I’ve never had scurvy, nor do I think scurvy can affect the eyelid, but I do enjoy saying “scurvy” aloud. Especially with a British accent. Try it.)
I think Eva Cassidy has one of the most beautiful voices ever.
I am very proud to be a working mom. For a long time I felt like it was something to be sort of ashamed about, as if it was the opposite of ideal, but I am happy for what work has done for me. I am also grateful to have been able to provide for my family.
I am head-over-heels in love with summer.
Comments are to blog as high octane gas is to car.
Comments are to blog as paycheck is to employee.
Comments are to blog as Hallmark card from cell phone provider is to annoyed consumer.
I love comments.
I don’t like keeping secrets. I don’t like secrets.
I don’t really like Ryan Seacrest either.
Ceramic chicken in my kitchen = attractive and stately.
Live chicken in my yard = aggravating.
Yesterday I got in an friendly dispute with the girl at Java Hut while attempting to order two frozen yogurts. I kept my cool, even though she was completely wrong. I chose to be nice and concede, because it wasn’t that big of a deal. As she prepared our treats, I think she realized that she was mistaken. She handed the yogurts out with a certificate for a free one next time. Lesson learned: being nice when you don’t have to = free yogurt.
Another lesson I learned recently: Buying swimsuits online does not save you the humiliation of trying them on in a dressing room. It’s just as humiliating to try them on in your own bedroom.
I made Leslie’s/Tonja’s/Monica’s Mexican Dip for dinner last night. Mmmmmm.
Next week is the fourth of July? Shut up!
School is out tomorrow. I can barely wait. I’m ready to summer it up with the kids. I’m ready to not be responsible for homework deadlines. I’m ready to let everyone stay in pajamas until noon.
I love the “sharing time” feature on Emily’s site. Love it, love it, love it. I pretty much just love Emily’s site. Period.
I have not made one German Pancake of Happiness this week. It’s already Thursday. I must repent.
I’m looking forward to hanging out at the pool with my sisters-in-law this evening. I really lucked out in the sister and sister-in-law department.
Speaking of sisters, my sister, April, makes the most wonderful peppermint bar soap. I’m almost out and I must call her and beg for more.
Sometimes it bothers me that I have a spleen but I couldn’t, for the life of me, tell you where it is.
You are hilarious. I am in total favor of friend day. Thanks for another laugh Tiffany…really… thanks
Making comments helps me feel connected to my friends. [I love comments too!]
Having a computer with the internet has enriched my life, where would I be without the world of writing and reading?
I love watering MY grass. Watching it grow in green instead of golden brown makes me happy. Oh, and I love watching the baby grass I planted in the “old” flower bed grow, it’s so cute!
Thanks Tiffany for your random thoughts, and thanks for enjoying mine.
i am the WORST commenter (i rarely remember).
i’m going to totally copy your idea and make my own random post. hopefully today.
THANK YOU for posting so frequently and giving me something to brighten my day.
I can’t wait for friend day! I hope my friends remember it too ;P Peppermint soap sounds so yummy I can hardly stand using my plain pineapple one right now. (sigh) What’s a girl to do?
great post! I love comments too and I am often jelaous of blogs with long strings of them. Sorry mine is a bit delinquent – work has not been too friendly this week.
Funny you should mention your spleen. I was just talking about the spleen with someone the other day and how we have no idea what it really is or where it is…….
The “mild case of diarrhea” is definitely my favorite part of this post. Hilarious!
What could be better than the refreshing Kearns pool, Little Caesars, and some “mom inspired” fresh cut watermelon? I could “do the pool” every day. ShaLayne and I have renewed our vow to apply sunscreen to the back of our bodies, and not just the front. It was fun to see all the cousins together, diaper gel and all! I’m with you on the sister-in-law comment. We had a nervous ride home, and were so relieved to find our puppy/sonar bat, Agatha Anne had survived our selfishly long trip to the pool. We think we should go and purchase one of the lime green bikinis the twins wore, and smuggle her in next time! Too cute!
I’d like to comment on the ceramic chicken. With me, it’s birds. I have birds all over my house, clay, wax, metal. I love to hear them chirping in the trees, especially on our early morning walks. But get me near a real, live bird and I’m terrified. Once at a social gathering, the host’s parrot was out of it’s cage. I knew, absolutely knew it was going to attack me. We made eye contact. It dove right for me. We do indeed attract that which we focus on.
This is a great post! Love your mind! Don’t let your spleen worry you too much, it’s perfectly normal — most people have them. And, while you can live without it, it’s better to keep it if you can.
Try the Aveeno oatmeal (olive green) lotion for that scaly patch on your eye. I had the same thing and it cleared it right up. Of course, it probably won’t work if it’s scurvy!
I’m definitely in on the Friend’s Day!
Ditto on the blog comments analogies!
Speaking of comments, I haven’t been able to leave any around here for a while. I don’t know why, but when I submit, it never shows up!
I’ve been commenting in my heart, though. And am keeping my fingers crossed that this one will show its face.
Another great post, as usual as usual. I want you to be famous. How can we go about accomplishing this?
I can’t believe it’s going to be July either. O will be 10 months old. WOW, I thought that would NEVER come.
LL, I had no idea about the live bird thing. I’ll keep that in mind the next time we visit and I won’t be you to go feed the ducks with me n’ O.
Tiff – I read all the time, laugh and then don’t comment. Thanks for the laugh
cheers
m
Love the post. It’s funny how some random thoughts are totally meaningless but hilarious and some actually mean something, like the working mom thought.
Free Yogurt?
