Corrie, my sister’s pal in Ohio, suggested July 19th as Friend Day, a day to celebrate and appreciate one’s friends. Doesn’t that sound great? I’m in.
I thoroughly enjoy a mild case of diarrhea. I find it to be very cleansing.
I have a scaly, red line on my left eyelid. Hope I don’t have scurvy again. (Actually, I’ve never had scurvy, nor do I think scurvy can affect the eyelid, but I do enjoy saying “scurvy” aloud. Especially with a British accent. Try it.)
I think Eva Cassidy has one of the most beautiful voices ever.
I am very proud to be a working mom. For a long time I felt like it was something to be sort of ashamed about, as if it was the opposite of ideal, but I am happy for what work has done for me. I am also grateful to have been able to provide for my family.
I am head-over-heels in love with summer.
Comments are to blog as high octane gas is to car.
Comments are to blog as paycheck is to employee.
Comments are to blog as Hallmark card from cell phone provider is to annoyed consumer.
I love comments.
I don’t like keeping secrets. I don’t like secrets.
I don’t really like Ryan Seacrest either.
Ceramic chicken in my kitchen = attractive and stately.
Live chicken in my yard = aggravating.
Yesterday I got in an friendly dispute with the girl at Java Hut while attempting to order two frozen yogurts. I kept my cool, even though she was completely wrong. I chose to be nice and concede, because it wasn’t that big of a deal. As she prepared our treats, I think she realized that she was mistaken. She handed the yogurts out with a certificate for a free one next time. Lesson learned: being nice when you don’t have to = free yogurt.
Another lesson I learned recently: Buying swimsuits online does not save you the humiliation of trying them on in a dressing room. It’s just as humiliating to try them on in your own bedroom.
I made Leslie’s/Tonja’s/Monica’s Mexican Dip for dinner last night. Mmmmmm.
Next week is the fourth of July? Shut up!
School is out tomorrow. I can barely wait. I’m ready to summer it up with the kids. I’m ready to not be responsible for homework deadlines. I’m ready to let everyone stay in pajamas until noon.
I love the “sharing time” feature on Emily’s site. Love it, love it, love it. I pretty much just love Emily’s site. Period.
I have not made one German Pancake of Happiness this week. It’s already Thursday. I must repent.
I’m looking forward to hanging out at the pool with my sisters-in-law this evening. I really lucked out in the sister and sister-in-law department.
Speaking of sisters, my sister, April, makes the most wonderful peppermint bar soap. I’m almost out and I must call her and beg for more.
Sometimes it bothers me that I have a spleen but I couldn’t, for the life of me, tell you where it is.
